Greetings!
As you can see, the Allergy Advocacy Association has a new name, new look and sharper focus.
Our new name, Allergy Advocates New York reflects directly feedback from advocates over the years as well as a forthright look on the impact we've since our founding in 2010. Over the years, our work has focused on safely surrounding the 2 million New Yorkers managing their life threatening with epinephrine and community members who know how and are equipped to administer it. Coordinating annual legislative activities in Albany creates a space for advocates across the state to put in place the laws necessary to make our communities safer.
It's October! It's time for our annual Allergy Action Awards, in person this year at Artisan Works on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:00. We'll be honoring the work of Dr. Anitha Shrikhande for the impact of her clinical work as well as research. We'll also honor former Assembly Member Tom Abninanti, who was instrumental in getting much of the allergy safety leglation passed since our first trip to Albany. As usual, Brenda Tremblay of WXXI Classical will be our MC. You'll be entertained by two of Rochester's finest performing artists. Ted Baumhauer of Red Tie Variety, performing magic and teaching you how to juggle along with other fun mayhem. Zahyia will also join us with her Afro Futuristic R&B sounds.
As we'll be in the Casablanca Room at ArtisanWorks, that is our theme this year, don your favorite 1940's garb and join us for a fun evening.
