Greetings!

There’s a lot happening at Allergy Advocates New York this fall—and we hope you’ll be a part of it!

On Thursday, September 10th, we will be one of four finalists competing at ROC the Pitch, a business pitch competition hosted by RIT’s Center for Urban Entrepreneurship. We’ll have the opportunity to share our mission and compete for support. We’d love to have members of our community there cheering us on! Tickets are available now.

Also in this issue, we’re introducing the seven remarkable advocates being honored at our 2026 Allergy Action Awards as we celebrate our 15th anniversary—and invite you to join us for the celebration on Thursday, October 8th at The Strong in Rochester (register here).

You’ll also see what allergy preparedness looks like in action. At Wickham Farms, epinephrine training and access to stock epinephrine helped save a guest’s life after an anaphylactic emergency. And at YMCA Camp Cory, careful planning and attention to food allergies are helping create a safer, more inclusive camp experience.

Finally, we examine an important issue affecting travelers—a proposed FAA rule that could change what airlines are required to carry in their emergency medical kits. Learn what’s being proposed, why advocates are concerned, and how you can make your voice heard before commenting ends on Monday, October 5th.

As always, thank you for being part of our community and helping us create a safer, more inclusive New York for everyone living with life-threatening allergies.

With gratitude,

All of us at Allergy Advocates New York
